This Pit Bull Was Thrown Out Because He Wasn’t Perfect, But A Hero Saved Him

Captain is a pit bull that was abandoned by his family because he wasn’t “perfect.”

He was born with a blind left eye and a deformed right ear, and for that reason, his owners abandoned him on the steps of a kill shelter in North Carolina. This typically would’ve been a death sentence for such an unusual-looking dog, but thankfully, these people were kind enough to save him.

North Carolina’s Cause for Paws swooped in and rescued him from the brink of death, and the kind cutie is beyond grateful.

Nicole Horabik is the woman who saved the puppy and placed him at the Cause for Paws facility.

Captain was only 8 weeks old when he was rescued from the kill shelter.

Horabik later wrote an emotional Facebook post about Captain’s unfortunate life story and included this photo.

Other than his aesthetic defects and his blind eye, Captain has a clean bill of health. There is no reason why he wouldn’t make a wonderful companion.

Rescuers believe that Captain’s next owners will be more loving toward the affable pup because he’s so gentle and friendly. Let’s hope that they’re right!
