‘Shocking!’ Jay Carney takes his ‘revolving door’ clown show to CNN

Union honcho: ‘On Memorial Day we honor those who served’

On Memorial Day we Honor those who Served.

All gave some.

Some gave All.

Thank you for your Service.

— Marc Perrone (@Marc_Perrone) May 24, 2014

Anthony “Marc” Perrone is Secretary-Treasurer of the 1.3 million member United Food & Commercial Workers International Union. Unfortunately, he seems a bit unclear on the distinction between Veterans Day (to celebrate all veterans) and Memorial Day (to honor members of the U.S. armed forces who died in service to our country).

But that’s OK. President Obama doesn’t know the difference either.

Pandermania! RNC says ‘all Republicans support equal pay’

We get that the RNC is trying to zing the White House for its rank hypocrisy on this issue. But seeming to embrace the socialist notion that the government should mandate equal pay by gender is a total messaging #fail.

‘Objective’ AP’s tweet reads ‘like the title of a Hamas press release’

It sure looks that way. Here’s the oh-so-esteemed Associated Press making Hamas proud:
Actually, the AP quietly altered the article after publication. The tweet simply summed up the opening paragraphs of Bradley Klapper’s original article (titled “With Israel at war, US lawmakers give full support”).

WASHINGTON (AP) — Members of Congress are falling over one another to show their support for Israel.

While much of the rest of the world watches the Gaza war in horror and scrambles for a cease-fire, U.S. lawmakers are pressing the Obama administration to take no action that puts pressure on Israel to halt its military operations.

After media watchers responded to the AP tweet, the news org revised the opening paragraphs of the article:

WASHINGTON (AP) — As the war in Gaza escalates, U.S. lawmakers are pressing the Obama administration to take no action that puts pressure on Israel to halt its military campaign against Hamas.

Many even have criticized the administration’s effort to stop violence that has killed more than 1,100 Palestinians, mostly civilians, and more than 40 Israeli soldiers and three civilians this month.

The tweet has not been deleted.

Jonah Goldberg issues reality check after Obama comment about Iraqi soldiers

President Obama’s address today about the deteriorating conditions in Iraq not only had its share of bad optics, but it also lacked a certain measure of self-awareness.

National Review’s Jonah Goldberg spelled it out:
Does Obama have a bigger problem with Iraqi soldiers abandoning their posts?
And he’d do it again!

#WhatWomenNeed for Valentine’s Day: Pelosi asks, citizens deliver [Photoshops]

Amen to that!

Last week, Democratic Rep. Gwen Moore declared that what women really need this Valentine’s Day is paid sick leave. This morning, it was Nancy Pelosi’s turn:

Tweeters were only too happy to follow her lead and offer up suggestions of their own:

What else do women need? Why Photoshops, of course!

Ask and you shall receive:

Pretty sure we’ve spotted Joe Biden holding that very same sign!

And last, but most certainly not least:

‘Major trouble’: House GOP hopeful Carl DeMaio accused of sexual harassment [video]

That was bizarre and.. graphic. Still processing. RT @shiracenter: WTF just happened to Carl DeMaio on CNN just now. Wow.

— Noah Rothman (@NoahCRothman) October 10, 2014

Processing what, exactly?

@NoahCRothman Don't leave us in suspense. What happened? @shiracenter

— Gabriel Malor (@gabrielmalor) October 10, 2014

@gabrielmalor Graphic accusation of sexual harassment by former staffer in on-camera interview.

— Brian Faughnan (@BrianFaughnan) October 10, 2014

Oh dear.

So, DeMaio (R-CA) may have masturbated in a restaurant, and later sexually harassed a male aide.

— Noah Rothman (@NoahCRothman) October 10, 2014

From today’s edition of “The Lead”:

CNN has also posted a lengthy report on the allegations against openly gay GOP congressional candidate Carl DeMaio:

But behind the scenes, things are much messier. DeMaio’s former campaign policy director is accusing the candidate of sexual harassment, even saying DeMaio masturbated in front of him. DeMaio vehemently denies the allegations, saying they’re the cover story of a plagiarist and suspected criminal.

This is not the first time DeMaio has been accused of sexually inappropriate behavior. Last year, a fellow city councilman said he twice caught DeMaio masturbating in a city hall restroom — an allegation DeMaio denied.

Also against his accuser. RT @katherinemiller: These are some serious accusations against DeMaio http://t.co/iAP7z5908Y

— Gabriel Malor (@gabrielmalor) October 10, 2014

For the record, DeMaio denies the allegations:

“This is an individual that was let go by our campaign manager for plagiarism. A well-documented plagiarism incident of taking a report from the National Journal and passing it off as his own work,” DeMaio said. “He was terminated. He admitted that he plagiarized. He apologized for plagiarizing and when we told him he was no longer welcome in the staff and in the campaign office, even as a volunteer, he left. Days later, he broke in.”

In any event, it looks like DeMaio’s got a tough PR battle ahead.

Hop into the Wayback Machine and check out these #HuffPoWalkerScandals

The headline in the Huffington Post — “Scott Walker Caught Breaking Campaign Rules While Running For College President In 1988″ — pretty much lets you know not to waste time reading too much further. The Daily Beast has already looked into the color of Ted Cruz’s bathrobe in college, and now it’s Scott Walker’s turn for a comprehensive investigation. Vetting of Barack Obama will have to wait just a few years longer.

While the Huffington Post continues its investigation, tweeters wonder what’s next to come in #HuffPoWalkerScandals.

The scandals haven’t stopped in adulthood, either.

Huffpo hires Donte Stallworth to cover national security … seriously

Ever feel like you’re being punked?

This is a joke right?

No. Seriously.

“Politics fellow covering national security.”

This may be the most unexplainable personnel decision since the Yankees hired George Costanza.

But it nonetheless appears to be true.

Of course, most of Twitter responded to the news with utmost seriousness.
