Workers pushed to part-time due to Obamacare; ‘They keep cutting my hours’

http://twitter.com/#!/starmushrooms/status/267120501762183168
As Twitchy has been reporting, the layoff bomb has detonated. Many companies, both large and small, have been forced to lay off workers due to President Obama’s re-election. With no hope of Obamacare being repealed, they are now forced to lay off employees in order to stay in business.

But it’s not just layoffs. Some companies are also contemplating cutting hours. Sadly, many companies have already done so.

Part-time is the new full-time in Obamaville.

This doesn’t just hurt the workers, who now have to try to live on a far more meager salary. It hurts the country as a whole.

Fewer working hours = less income = lower tax receipts = bigger deficit. Fewer working hours = less income = more welfare. #deathspiral

— Nathan Wurtzel (@NathanWurtzel) November 10, 2012

Death spiral, indeed. The layoff bomb detonated and the collateral damage is vast.

@kristinaribali #Obamacare will result in many employees switched to contractor status & cutting hours of others to become part-time workers

RT @mdrache: That ‘living wage’ looked awesome at 40 hours a week. At 29 hours, it looks a lot like minimum.

RT @mdrache: Dear Liberals, if you’re upset about corps going to PT to avoid Obamacare, you should have read the law before you passed it.

— Melissa Clouthier (@MelissaTweets) November 10, 2012

Bingo. And the hits keep coming. These Twitter users give first-hand reports of companies cutting hours. And relay devastating tales of trying to make do when their hours have been cut drastically.

As Twitchy reported earlier this morning, many Facebook users have been unable to post today.

Naturally, many people (including Congressman Cory Gardner, R-Colo.) were reminded of another high-profile website that has been having technical problems recently.

We See This Every Day Without Realizing It. This Photographer Just Captured It Beautifully.

No matter how familiar you are with the biggest cities in the United States, I guarantee you haven’t seen any of them quite like this before. Photographer Stephen Wilkes has been widely recognized for his fine art and commercial photography, and he found a new way to present these major cities. His photo series, titled Day To Night, shows the cityscapes in an entirely new light. Each of the transition images is actually collection of moments, unlike most normal photos which capture one moment in time. It takes about 50 photographs out of around 1,500 shots taken over the course of 12-15 hours to make just one of these photographs. During these shoots, Stephen doesn’t take bathroom breaks and barely eats. He very cautiously oversees the shoot so that the transition from day to night is perfect.
