Buzzfeed reporter’s mistweet makes Obama’s speech uncomfortably candid

http://twitter.com/#!/ZekeJMiller/status/302536629036400640
Whoa, what happened on the south side? In an early afternoon speech in Chicago, President Obama spoke of the importance of fatherhood, but did he really suggest that maybe he escaped being “punished with a baby” during his days in the city?

@zekejmillerI don’t think that’s quite what he said.

@zekejmiller um, huh

Let’s review the tape.

Hop into the Wayback Machine and check out these #HuffPoWalkerScandals

http://twitter.com/#!/irishspy/status/438162311035895808
The headline in the Huffington Post — “Scott Walker Caught Breaking Campaign Rules While Running For College President In 1988″ — pretty much lets you know not to waste time reading too much further. The Daily Beast has already looked into the color of Ted Cruz’s bathrobe in college, and now it’s Scott Walker’s turn for a comprehensive investigation. Vetting of Barack Obama will have to wait just a few years longer.

While the Huffington Post continues its investigation, tweeters wonder what’s next to come in #HuffPoWalkerScandals.

POTUS on news: ‘Whatever they’re reporting about, usually I know’

http://twitter.com/#!/JimAcostaCNN/status/491749040976330752
At a Seattle fundraiser Tuesday night, President Obama reversed course from his earlier claims that he usually learns about administration scandals from the news, just like everyone else. Instead he claimed he doesn’t watch the news because “whatever they’re reporting about, usually I know.”

Sen. Harry Reid: ‘Republicans have corrupted the Founders’ intent’

http://twitter.com/#!/SenatorReid/status/337256745888018433
Poor Harry Reid’s dream of bipartisanship is always out of reach, but he’s not giving up. If accusing the GOP of corrupting the very core of America is part of his charm offensive, it’s no wonder he’s having so much trouble solving that gridlock problem.

21 Times Microsoft Word Was Obviously Just Trolling You

                                            We’re onto you, Word.

1. When it refuses to make up its damn mind.

Nothing’s ever good enough for you, is it, Word?

2. When its thesaurus feature pulls this shit.

3. When it tries to make you look like a fool.

4. When it keeps shoving your graph into the margins for no apparent reason.

5. When it plays fast and loose with the basic rules of English grammar.

6. When it wants you to fail your essay.

Why do you want us to fail, Word? What did we do to you?

7. When it’s clearly just having a laugh with its suggestions.

Yeah, “many look both of which down upon” is exactly what I meant.

8. When its grammar is far from the “trustworthiest.”

9. No but seriously, when it tries to pull this shit.

Just. Make. The green line. Go away.

10. When it can’t resist a bit of irony.

11. When it wants you to know it’s taking your work very, very seriously.

THANKS FOR THE GREAT ADVICE, WORD.

12. When it lets you know it’s got a foul mouth.

13. When it tries to make you look like a terrible parent.

NO, WORD. NO.

14. When it wants to let you to know just how much it hates your biochemistry homework.

We GET it, Word.

15. When it suddenly decides it shouldn’t be easy to look up a word.

Why are you making things difficult, Word?

16. When it constantly tries to make you sound dumb.

17. When you just want to get some work done and it goes all existential on you.

Deep.

18. When it’s clearly drunk and messing with you.

19. When it gets aaaaaall pretentious.

Oh, get you, Word.

20. When it makes its intentions clear.

21. When it knows just how to drive you to madness.

Works every time.

O’Keefe: Project Veritas ‘gets results’; FCC warns about ‘Obama phones’

http://twitter.com/#!/SpaceCoastCon/status/354354988262236160
Are you paying attention, mainstream media? We didn’t think so. However, James O’Keefe and Project Veritas exposed yet another government program that invites fraud and corruption, and the FCC took notice (though they didn’t admit O’Keefe’s expose had anything to do with it):
http://twitter.com/#!/JamesOKeefeIII/status/354354396873760770
The FCC has sent notices to companies who participate in the LifeLine phone program (known better to some as “Obama phones”) which instructed them to verify eligibility before handing out phones.

From The Hill:

The notice from the FCC comes a few weeks after Project Veritas, a conservative organization led by activist James O’Keefe, released a video that shows distributors giving free Lifeline phones to people who said they planned to resell them. One of the recipients said he planned to use it for drug money.

O’Keefe’s organization proved that the “honor system” doesn’t work so well when it comes to handing out government goodies. Maybe the government will have better luck when they try it with health care.

What are the Obama phone guidelines to which companies are expected adhere? Some speculation:
