President Obama held a press conference today that was intended to focus on gun control. Instead, reporters’ first questions were about the fiscal cliff. When confronted about the progress in reaching a bipartisan deal, President Compromise had this to say:

1. Fashion Police‘s Academy Awards special on Feb. 23 angered viewers after host Giuliana Rancic described Zendaya’s locs as making her look like she “smells like patchouli oil.” “Or weed,” someone added.
“Maybe weed,” Rancic agreed.
The hairstyle was a new look for the young singer, who most recently sported a pixie cut.

13. “To say that an 18-year-old young woman with locs must smell of patchouli oil or ‘weed’ is not only a large stereotype but outrageously offensive,” she wrote.
The singer and actress, who has been a frequent guest host on the show, added:
“There is already harsh criticism of African-American hair in society without the help of ignorant people who choose to judge others based on the curl of their hair. My wearing my hair in locs on an Oscar red carpet was to showcase them in a positive light, to remind people of color that our hair is good enough.”
15. Rancic wrote an apology on Twitter, saying her comments had “NOTHING to do with race.”

Wendy Davis today expressed her relief that the Senate had “finally focused on important issues” facing the state other than the “dangerous” legislation threatening to increase safety standards at Texas abortion clinics. Those issues, namely highway construction and juvenile sentencing guidelines, had been on the agenda for a vote on June 25 but were delayed due to Davis’ own 11-hour filibuster of that abortion legislation, prompting Gov. Rick Perry to call this week’s special session.

From the way the MSM is covering the Flint water story, you’d think it was an isolated problem thanks to Michigan’s Republican governor. For example the tweet above from Michael Moore calling for the arrest of Gov. Rick Snyder and this one from the Natural Resources Defense Council:
But guess what? Lead in the water is a problem for many older cities and when you compare the actual lead measured in the blood of kids from Flint to kids in other cities, Flint comes out much, much better.

Vox went on to criticize these Democrat-run utopias for not disclosing data on lead exposure to the public even though they’re receiving taxpayer dollars to do so:
Vox reached out to the six cities currently receiving funding from the CDC Houston, Texas, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Washington, DC, Chicago, and New York City. Of the six cities, only two were able to provide lead exposure data at the neighborhood level. The other four are getting money to monitor lead exposure but aren’t making the results easily accessible to the public.
